Linux programs available on this web site
These are free programs licensed under the Gnu General Public License. The download files include c++ source code, a binary executable that will likely work "out of the box", and a comprehensive user guide. A build script with instructions is also provided, in case a rebuild is needed to work on your system. They integrate best with the Gnome desktop, but will also work with KDE.
dkop
Utility for backing-up disk files to DVD/R/RW. Full or incremental backup and DVD verification. Uses a GUI interface to specify included and excluded directories and files. Wildcards may also be used for a compact and efficient specification. For more details, go to the dkop page.
findwild

fotox
Improve image files made with a digital camera. Includes brightness/contrast, composite images (high dynamic range) and panoramas. For more details, go to the fotox page.
galaxy
Stellar simulation program. Watch a few stars move around each-other, steered only by gravity, or watch a large random cluster evolve into a spiral galaxy. For more details, go to the galaxy page.
picpuz

A utility for programmers. Print programs in a way that logical sections are not split across pages. For more details, visit the progprint page.
ukop
Utility to copy or back-up disk files to a USB stick or other disk-like media. It copies only new or modified files since the last backup, and is therefore quite fast. Uses a GUI interface to specify details and save them for repeated use. For more details, go to the ukop page.
A system monitor utility. Real-time view of system resources and which processes are using how much resources. Includes CPU, memory, page faults, disk I/O, network I/O. For more details, visit the watsup page.
